On December 29, 2012, Pastor Creflo Dollar of Atlanta, GA began services for World Changers Church New York at the Loews Paradise Theater in The Bronx. Over the previous eight years, the church held weekly services at many of the top venues in New York City including Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and The Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center.
The recent move into the landmark 4,000 seat Paradise Theater provides a place to finally call home for the churches more than 10,000 members. The inaugural church service was full of excitement as the capacity crowd was met with spirited music, dance, a live stage performance, and the first of many weekly sermons from Pastor Creflo Dollar. Every precaution was taken to ensure a smooth transition into the new facility. In the days prior to the first service, members of the church volunteered their time and service to clean, renovate, and prepare the building. Because the Loews Paradise Theater is a landmark, much of the buildings decor was left in tact. Weekly worship services will be held on Wednesday and Saturday nights with an additional Sunday morning service in the works.
Mike Czerwinski is a musician at World Changers Church New York. In a previous interview on PaulElliott.org, he reflected on his dream of playing at Madison Square Garden being fulfilled when he first played with the church. When asked how moving to the new location parallels to that moment, Mike cheerfully responds, “I get to play music in front of a nice audience every single weekend. Who could ask for anything more than that?”
